-------------------"And seated a little apart was a tall man with a fair and noble face, dark-haired and grey-eyed, proud and stern of glance."Boromir
(Sean Bean) from The Lord of the Rings
I started this drawing two years ago and thought that I would not finish it before the end of this era, but here comes the proud man. The waiting was worth since I think it is one of my best drawings so far. And I am surprised that it wasn't a hard work to make, while to darken the background wasted some hours. The progress went well, specially his face and beard. I didn't like the lower part of his hair close to the shoulders, but I don't know why I have a sense sometimes telling me "stop drawing, or you will do it forever and never get this done." I hate my perfectionism!
It's good to draw LotR fanarts, I go back to many years before, when everything was new and exciting. *sighs*
But it's giving me a lot of confidence and courage to keep my promises alive. Yes, I do promises for myself, and I am a very stubborn girl, I don't break them! Sometimes I feel like Boromir, a bit corrupted by my pride and confident to ignore a kind of neediness. Too much blahblahblah...
Now the most important thing about the drawing:
This is a special gift to my friend Silvia
I am sorry for my unbelievable delay, but certain things come at the right hour. Thanks for being an amazing person and friend. I'm sure you'll get everything you want for life. I wish you this from the bottom of my heart, you know it.
Pencil drawing on A4 paper.
I don't know how many hours I spent on this. Sorry.
